Always Been Rich goes into some detail about the necessity of teamwork in a family. When Mom goes to college full time there are adjustments which have to be made. In the case of the author the changes were made without a lot of rumblings. Of course, Wilmer, the husband, was so supportive and helpful and that, I think, was an inspiration to the 4 children. As the picture shows ALL helped to make the experience work. Yes, there was the time when the author prepared an oven dinner (noon) for Wilmer and the men who worked on the
farm. When they came in at noon the oven had not turned on and the dinner was cold and uncooked. Not good but forgivable. Another time a peach pie was left in the oven to bake and was not thought of until 3 in the morning when the pie smell permeated the nighttime air. The authors good intentions did not always go as planned but with love and grace the family survived the 4 years in good style. Many lessons learned outside the classroom by the whole family.
